Board Certified: Pediatrics
Medical School: University of Kentucky School of Medicine
Residency: Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Dr. O'Brien joined Cabarrus Pediatrics in 1995. He is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He completed his residency and a year as chief resident in Pediatrics at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
Dr. O'Brien loves spending time with kids. It's a good thing he does, because as a pediatrician and the proud father of four children, he spends most of his waking hours with kids. He is active in the community-- coaching youth sports, teaching Sunday school and speaking out about issues that affect children.
Away from, and occasionally in the office, his hobbies include basketball (he is a former Duke Blue Devil mascot), photography, and juggling - or as one of his young patients put it, "he's that doctor who jiggles."

Particular areas of professional interest include sports medicine, child safety, parenting, and nutrition. Dr. O'Brien also speaks fluent ''pediatric Spanish". He is a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.

In the fall of 2002 the Douglasses were blessed to adopt the youngest of their three children from Siberian Russia. Dr. Douglass has reviewed records from Russia, China, Ukraine, Estonia, Lithuania, Kyrgystan, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Republic of Georgia, Armenia, Poland, Guatemala, S. Korea, Vietnam, and Taiwan.

Specialty: Pediatrics
Medical School: University of Virginia
Residency: Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Cente

Dr. Mah, known by some as Dr. Hans, joined Cabarrus Pediatric Clinic in July 2002. He grew up in Ohio, went to school at Duke University, medical school at The University of Virginia, and trained at Brenner Children's Hospital at Wake Forest University before coming to Concord. Like others at our clinic (see Dr. O'Brien) he is a Duke basketball fan; but don't worry if you are a Tarheel fan; you'll still receive our best care. Dr. Mah enjoys his church life, playing guitar (but never took one guitar lesson), watching musicals, reading, traveling, working on his lawn (now that the drought is hopefully
over), and 'exciting' nights playing Scrabble with his wife. His big news is that Dr. Mah and his wife welcomed the arrival of their first baby in October 2003. He now experiences the 'excitement' of sleepless nights, runny noses, and hours of crying (and of course the joys, laughs, and pride of being a parent, too).
