Dr. Benbow joined Cabarrus Pediatric Clinic in 1976. He is a graduate of Davidson College and Duke University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Pediatrics at the University of Colorado in Denver. He is married, and he and his wife Katherine have 3 grown children. Mary is an educator living in Virginia, Charlie is an officer in the US Marine Corps, and Peter is a student at Davidson College. Laura J. Larrabee, M.D.

Dr. Larrabee joined Cabarrus Pediatric Clinic in 1987. She is a graduate of Bowman Gray School of Medicine (now Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center). She did her residency at the Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta, G.A. Dr. Larrabee grew up in rural upstate New York, but moved to the Concord area in 1978. She is married and has a son, as well as 2 grown stepchildren and 3 step grandchildren. She lives in the Odell community with her sister’sfamilyand her father and stepmother being her immediate |

| neighbors. Dr. Larrabee’s interests include taking care of her son, reading, and taking care of the family’s horses, dogs, cats and fish. She is a University of Kentucky fan by marriage and enjoys Panther’s football. Her professional interests in addition to general pediatrics include child sexual/physical abuse. |

Dr. O'Brien joined Cabarrus Pediatrics in 1995. He is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He completed his residency and a year as chief resident in Pediatrics at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Dr. O'Brien loves spending time with kids. It's a good thing he does, because as a pediatrician and the proud father of four children, he spends most of his waking hours with kids. He is active in the community-- coaching youth sports, teaching Sunday school and speaking out about issues that affect children. |

Away from, and occasionally in the office, his hobbies include basketball (he is a former Duke Blue Devil mascot), photography, and juggling - or as one of his young patients put it, "he's that doctor who jiggles."
Particular areas of professional interest include sports medicine, child safety, parenting, and nutrition. Dr. O'Brien also speaks fluent ''pediatric Spanish". He is a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. |

David P. Douglass, M.D.

Dr. Douglass joined Cabarrus Pediatric Clinic in 1999 after completing pediatric residency and medical school at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Dr. Douglass currently practices full-time general pediatrics with a special interest in international adoption medicine. He is board-certified in pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). He is a member |

of the AAP's Section on Adoption and Foster Care and is in frequent contact with other experts in adoption medicine across the country.
Dr. Douglass' passionate interest in international pediatrics dates back to his first medical mission trip in 1999 to Ecuador. He has subsequently participated on medical trips to Peru and Haiti. In addition he has traveled in Guatemala and Russia.
In the fall of 2002 the Douglasses were blessed to adopt the youngest of their three children from Siberian Russia. This experience spurred the formal launch of For the Children International Adoption Medical Services in 2003. Since then Dr. Douglass has had the privilege of reviewing hundreds of adoptee medical records and has been steadily adding dozens of adoptees to his clinical practice. Dr. Douglass has reviewed records from Russia, China, Ukraine, Estonia, Lithuania, Kyrgystan, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Republic of Georgia, Armenia, Poland, Guatemala, S. Korea, Vietnam, and Taiwan.

Dr. Mah, known by some as Dr. Hans, joined Cabarrus Pediatric Clinic in July 2002. He grew up in Ohio, went to school at Duke University, medical school at The University of Virginia, and trained at Brenner Children's Hospital at Wake Forest University before coming to Concord. Like others at our clinic (see Dr. O'Brien) he is a Duke basketball fan; but don't worry if you are a Tarheel fan; you'll still receive our best care. Sherry joined Cabarrus Pediatric Clinic in 2003 as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She is a graduate of the University of Florida where she received her BSN and MSN. Sherry grew up on a dairy farm in Gainesville, Florida (yes, Florida does have dairy farms). Sherry moved to North Carolina a few years ago and is still having trouble adjusting to the winters. Sherry enjoys running, working out at the gym, traveling, and hiking. She spends most of her time with family and friends. Being from Florida, she is a Gator fan and enjoys attending sporting events. Particular areas of special interest include dermatology, new mothers and newborns. |
